The holidays can be an incredibly happy and joyous time, as we visit with loved ones, share meals and enjoy time off of work. However, we’re all familiar with the difficulties involved, particularly around staying healthy and sticking to our nutrition and exercise plans!

Over the next several weeks, I’ll be providing tips for surviving the holiday season with your fitness regime intact!

Holiday Tip #1: Boost Metabolism with the RIGHT Kind of Exercise

Muscles literally pull glucose (sugar) out of the blood for energy use! The more muscles you use, the more you speed up your metabolism.

My recommendation is to totally burn your glutes (butt) with squats and lunges. Why these particular exercises? Because glutes are the biggest muscle in your body, and are thus super efficient for fat burning.

How to Do It

Aim for 3 sets of 12 squats and 3 sets of elevated lunges every other day.
